Ordering a sliding glass door track repair kit is very easy. Determining your sliding glass doors opening width will also determine which repair kit you need to order. Standard sliding glass door opening widths are 6 Feet, 8 feet, 10 feet and 12 feet wide.
We offer 6 different variations to cover all these door widths.
Using a metal tape mesure, simply measure the width of your door frame from inside to inside. Once you have this measurement, you can now select the proper track kit to purchase. Please note that your measurement may be slightly smaller than any of our available kits. This means you will have to trim the kit to fit your opening. This is explaine in the easy to follow instructions include with your kit.
You will see that our 6 and 8 feet track repair kits come in 2versions, a solid piece and a two piece. If you have the ability to get the sliding door up and off of its track and remove it from the frame, we prefer that you do it in one solid piece.
Howver, if you cannot remove the door from its respective track you can opt for the two piece kit instead. The first piece is installed, then the door is slid into postion on top of the newly installed piece. You then install the second piece on the track where the was previously positioned.
Please also note that our 10 and 12 foot kits come in 2 piece versions only.
Lets run though a few quick ordering examples:
You have also measured your slider door opening and found it to be 8 feet wide. Therefore,
you will need to order the 1/4" high by 8 foot repair kit. Depending on whether the door can be removed from the frame, will determine if you should order the one piece solid of the two piece kit.
You have a damaged sliding glass door track and have determined from your measurements that you require the 1/4" by 12 foot repair kit. As this kit only comes in a 2 piece kit, you only have one purchase option.
